What is The Next Wave?

In 1996, NUS Dance Ensemble inaugurated the first in the highly successful series of annual dance concerts entitled “ The Next Wave”. The objectives of this platform are:

To discover and groom new choreographers and talents in dance.

To encourage the development of fresh, innovative, original choreography that fuse modern technique and ethnic spirit to evolve dance forms which could be uniquely Singaporean.

To provide a space where their artists and their works could be showcased.

To promote the steadfast belief in creativity and self-expression in the search for one’s unique cultural identity.
